Robert Lee French, 84, a Wellington resident for the past five years, died Oct. 23, 1999, at his residence. He was born Jan. 8, 1915, in Washington, to George and Mae Vernier French.
Before moving to Wellington, he lived in Redding, Calif.
Mr. French was in the Merchant Marines until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating and especially spending time with his family.
He married his wife, Donna, in November 1949 in California. She preceded him in death Jan. 10, 1994.
Among his survivors are his sons, Lawrence Galarpez, of the Bay area, Patrick Herrmann of Sparks and Chester Sherry of San Francisco; daughters, Monica Smith of Reno, Sonia Bodner, of San Pedro, Calif., and Laurie Grove, of Wellington; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, Minden, is in charge of arrangements.
