A memorial for Robert R. Head, 68, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City.
Mr. Head died Jan. 8, 2000, at his residence. He was born April 24, 1931, in Alabama to Bonnie Self.
Prior to living in Carson City he resided in Oxnard, Calif.
He married Chris Elmore in 1994 in Carson City.
Mr. Head worked for Raytheon Co. as an electronics engineer for 35 years, his last few years in the missile systems division at Point Mugu Naval Base.
He loved the outdoors and was happiest when working in his garden planting flowers or fruit trees. He had a childlike passion for planes and trains that he never outgrew. He was a true gentleman.
Mr. Head served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Among his survivors are his wife Chris Head of Carson City; sons Robert Head of Paris, Tenn., and Derek Head of Savannah, Ga.; daughters, Bonnie Hammontree of San Jose, Calif., and Samantha Head of Providence, R.I., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
