A private family service for Sadie Brown Parker, 73, a Minden resident for the past six years, will be Wednesday. Mrs. Parker died Oct. 9, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Southgate, Calif., to Harry and Letta Brown.
She married Ralph Parker Dec. 27, 1946, in Upland, Calif.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Ventura, Calif. from 1948-93.
Mrs. Parker was a homemaker. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter AA of Carson City. She enjoyed traveling, needlework, gardening and was a local history buff.
Among her survivors are her husband, Ralph, of Minden; son, R. Dalton, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Tedra Parker and Michael Paul Cook, of Carson City; sisters, Hazel Quackenbush, of Auburn, Calif. and Ella Homutoff, of Chino, Calif.; and grandchildren, Sarah and Erin Cook.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
