Stanley Theodore Ripley, 69, a Reno-Carson City resident for the past 16 years, died April 26, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1931, in Cortland, N.Y., to Theodore R. and Eloise Tilyou Ripley.
Before moving to this area, he lived in Truckee.
Mr. Ripley was operations manager for Sierra Landscaping. He was a member of the Christian Church of Reno. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-54.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1950 and sister Nancy Hamilton.
Among his survivors are his mother Eloise Ivers of Carson City; sons Theodore W. of South Lake Tahoe, Mike A. of Bishop, Calif., Paul S. of Sherwood, Ore., and Charles D. of Reno; daughter Katherine Ripley of Reno; sisters Joyce Bennett and Sonja Lindholm, both of Yuba City, Calif., Laura J. Willey of Carson City and Jacqueline Bush of Stockton, Calif.; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory in Reno.
