University of Nevada freshman Terrance Green was selected this past week as an alternate for the USA Basketball Olympic Developmental team.
Green, who was the Wolf Pack's leading scorer this past season with a 13.9 point average, was one of 30 players picked as an alternate.
National Team trials will be held May 25-28 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., with competition beginning in July 2000 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Green would have a chance to try out for the national team if players at his shooting guard position either get injured or can't make the tryout.
"This is not only good exposure for Terrance, but also for the university and our basketball program," Nevada basketball coach Trent Johnson said. "This gets Terrance's name out there for future consideration for USA Basketball teams."
