A Carson City man, arrested in December after breaking into a house and attempting to assault a woman, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Friday in a deal with prosecutors.
Pedro Molina Perez, 24, was originally arrested on sexual assault and home invasion charges after a woman said he broke through her screen door in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive, grabbed her and tried to kiss her.
She was able to get away when he started to pass out, reports indicate.
Friday's justice court sentence puts Perez back on the street. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery for which he will serve 40 hours community service and six months in jail suspended for one year.
