WASHINGTON - Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., joined fellow Democratic leaders Wednesday in unveiling the party plan to provide Medicare prescription drug benefits to seniors.
Reid, assistant Senate Democratic Leader, said 75 percent of seniors lack decent coverage for the cost of prescription drugs and at least 13 million Medicare beneficiaries have no prescription coverage at all.
"You don't have to be a doctor to understand that this is bad medicine," said Reid. "The legislation we are introducing today will change that and it is my hope that it will become law this year."
