Sunset Rotary Club members are working to make Carson Country children's Christmas better.

Salvation Army Lt. John VanCleef read a "giving story" to future Rotarians at a meeting recently where the Sunset Rotary Club provided gifts for underprivileged children of Carson City.

Additionally, Sunset Rotary made a gift presentation to the Ross Clinic at Friends In Service Helping. The proceeds of the annual Turkey Trot 10K race were given to Monte Fast by President Pam Anderson and Dr. Rex Baggett.

Sunset Rotary hosted the annual event on Nov. 20, 1999, with 70 participants. The event netted the Ross Clinic $1,200 which is to be used for lab work and X-ray services. Those services are not covered by FISH for those seeking assistance.

Anderson said that the Rotary club members would like to thank all of the event sponsors: Fleet Feet Sports, Straw Hat Pizza, Lumos & Associates, Mountain Medical, Sierra Physical Therapy, Sierra Nevada Printers, and the Carson City Chapter Girl Scouts.
