The "Run with Robey" 5K Run and Walk is set for April 29 (Saturday) at the Empire Ranch Golf Course Club House. The event is a campaign kick-off for Justice of the Peace Robey Willis' re-election campaign.
The campaign will also host a golf tournament on the same day at Empire Ranch, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
The race will run around the perimeter of the golf course and start and finish at the clubhouse.
There will be prizes awarded to the top runners and walkers in seven age categories as well as a Clydesdale Division for men 200-plus pounds and women 150-plus pounds.
Pre-registration by April 26 is $18; there is a $3 discount for Tahoe Mountain Milers, Sagebrush Stompers and Silver State Striders. The entry fee includes a t-shirt and post-race raffle ticket.

The golf entry fee of $100 per person includes greens fees, cart, tee prizes, a shirt, the barbecue and a raffle ticket. Individual and team prizes will be awarded to the top men's, women's and mixed categories. There will also be $500 awarded in a raffle, and a barbecue will immediately follow the tournament.
The tourney format will be a four-person scramble. Players can form their own team or can be teamed up by the tournament organizers. The event is limited to 144 players.
The barbecue is open to the public and tickets can be purchased for $15.
