Jan. 28 is the deadline for receiving applications for the various 2000 Nevada spring wild turkey hunts.
Those applications must be received through an authorized mail service such as the U.S. Mail, FedEx, U.P.S. by no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 28.
They must be mailed to the Fallon Hunt Application Office, P.O. Box 1345, Fallon, 89407-1345.
Do mail your application to the Nevada Division of Wildlife. If you do, it will be returned to you.
There will be a total of 75 spring wild turkey tags for resident hunters to hunt on public lands. Those public lands hunts will be for eight different one-week hunting periods. The first of those hunts will open on March 25 and the last will close on Apr. 30.
In addition to the public lands tags, there will be an unlimited number of "private lands" tags available for both resident and non-resident hunters.
When applying for a wild turkey tag, there is a fee of $20.
In addition, there is also a non-refundable processing fee of $5.
Your check must be made payable to: Nevada Division of Wildlife.
Residents and non-residents are only allowed one turkey tag per year of any type.
The Nevada 2000 Spring Turkey Seasons brochures are available at all NDOW offices and hunting and fishing license outlets throughout the state.
