The Christmas Variety Show is making its way back on stage at the Carson City Community Center on Dec. 5.

"We are thrilled to present our annual Christmas show," said Janice Ayres, executive director for RSVP. "We have many families, grandparents and people of all ages who look forward to this all-star array of performers that we bring each year during the holidays to the Carson City Community Center."

This is the 16th year the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has sponsored the Christmas Variety Show. It is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale. Santa will be on hand to give out goodies to all those in attendance.

Headliner this year is Dick Franco, juggler extraordinaire, who will entertain young and old with his master showmanship and bag of tricks. His act is fast paced and is a favorite of cruise ships and circuses around the world.

Also, The Amazing Borellis are scheduled to bring their hand balancing and foot juggling routines that are presented in the European tradition. In addition, event organizers are working to add two more outstanding circus acts to round out the show.

Holiday music will be performed by two nationally recognized artists who have been performing since the age of 10.

Lolli Jones, a versatile vocalist and multi-talented instrumentalist, has appeared all over the world on television, radio, major concerts, fairs and motion pictures.

Paul Perryman has recently been voted Best Country Vocalist/Musician in Northern California, and is also well known for his comical views on life and love, stretching his talents with impressions of recording legends such as Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Johnny Mathis and even Elmer Fudd.

Backing up the performers is the well-known and entertaining Byron Peterson Trio.

Advance tickets are $10 per person or $30 for a family, and are available by calling 687-5108. All proceeds benefit RSVP Home Companion Program to help seniors live independently at home rather than in a care facility. On an availability basis, tickets can also be purchased at the door the evening of the event.
