GENOA - On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., members and guests of the Unity Church of Today will celebrate the ending of 1999 with a "Burning Bowl" service, which will be held at the Genoa Town Hall.
This service is open to all who wish to shed the trials and tribulations of the year past, said spokesman Floyd Hill.
The service, which will be led by the Rev. Julie Johnson, consists of writing down the things and situations that we do not want to carry into the new millennium and burning them.
"Through the alchemy of fire, we send them into the universe as a different energy so they can return as new opportunities in the year 2000," Hill said.
There will be no 9 a.m. service on that Sunday. All are welcome to attend and need not be members of the church to participate.
