The 30th annual Virginia City Grand Prix Motorcycle Race will be held on Saturday-Sunday.
Racing begins on both days at 9 a.m. in Virginia City.
An estimated 400 riders will compete each day.
Portions of the Six Mile and Seven Mile Canyon Roads will be closed to the public during the event.
Public lands authorized for racing will be closed to the public for safety reasons.
The public lands closure will be in effect from 6 p.m. on May 12 through 4 p.m. on May 14. The exact race route is not disclosed to the general public nor to the race participants prior to the event.
