From the academic to the recreational, a wide array of classes to help students learn a new career field, explore a hobby or begin an academic degree await those who enroll at Western Nevada Community College's summer session. Students may register now for classes which begin June 12.
Academic classes include biology, education, English, history, math and psychology. Non-credit community service classes feature bicycle repair, crafts, fencing, personal financial planning, landscaping and more. Several sections of a popular motorcycle class will be presented throughout the summer. Attending the class can entitle students to a reduction in their motorcycle insurance premiums.
Schedules detailing the class times and locations are available at WNCC locations in Carson City, Douglas, Fallon, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock and Yerington.
Those who have not previously enrolled at WNCC must complete an application for admission found in the class schedule and at the college Web site, www.wncc.nevada.edu. Continuing and former WNCC students may register using Touch-Tone Telephone Registration at 887-3130 or the Internet.
