120 YEARS AGO

Yesterday a 9-year-old son of Dan Corbett was thrown out of a wagon on Fourth Street, near Gov. Adam's house and was so severely injured he was taken home insensible. The horse he was driving took fright and collided with a tree. At last account, he was doing well.

100 YEARS AGO

Married. M.G. Cecil and Frances G. Heidenger of this city. She is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Spurgeon. Mr. Cecil has been employed for a number of years at this prison. The couple will occupy a new home just finished in this city.

70 YEARS AGO

Yesterday Lia Num, aged Chinaman, who served his sentence at the state prison was released. His wife had a pile of colored papers, properly inscribed at the door, to burn to alleviate evil spirits. Following the celebration, he took an auto ride with his sons and hit a tree. It is believed the wrong papers were burned.

50 YEARS AGO

Plans for the 1951 running of the Sagebrush Derby were completed last night with Francis Slade as chairman. The annual race of small cars is run down Robinson Street.

20 YEARS AGO

San Francisco - The battle over American Indian rights to the waters of Pyramid Lake returns to the Nevada federal court system after a federal appeals court remanded the case for reconsideration. "The Indians and the federal government want to raise the level of the lake to restore fisheries."

10 YEARS AGO

Gardnerville - Columbia Cable of Nevada in Carson Valley announced it will add new stations and reposition some. A new fiber optic system serves Johnson Lane, Indian Hills, Jacks Valley and Alpine View, served before by a different distribution point.
