Douglas to host Senior Games swimming

Douglas County Senior Services will host the Northern Nevada Senior Games Swimming Competition.

The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Carson Valley Swim Center. Warm-ups will begin at 8 a.m. with the meet set to begin at 9 a.m. Events to be held will be:

50, 100, 200 and 400-yard freestyles; 50 and 100 breaststroke; 50 and 100 butterfly; the 50 and 100 backstroke; and the 100 individual medley.

The games are open to men and women ages 49 and over. The registration fee is $15 per athlete. The fee permits to enter all sports for the remainder of the Senior Games schedule, with the exception of golf.
