Drivers: Brace themselves for some late summer road construction

State road projects in Northeast Carson City will tie up roads through the end of November.

-- College Parkway will be closed from Hot Springs Road to Research Way until Monday as Frehner Construction workers pull the wood structures from around the College Parkway freeway bridge. Traffic will be routed from Hot Springs Road to Research Way.

-- Emerson Drive will close to through traffic 6 a.m., Tuesday while workers construct false work for the freeway bridge over Emerson. Residential traffic will be allowed. The road should reopen Friday. Traffic will be detoured from Arrowhead Drive to Goni Road, although Northgate Lane will be open.

-- A $1.4 million resurfacing of College Parkway from Hot Springs Road to Lompa Lane will start the week of Aug. 5. Work should be done by the end of October.

-- A $2.2 million resurfacing of Highway 50 from Flint Drive east to the Virginia City turnoff will start sometime in August and be completed by Nov. 2.
