Memorial services are 4 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City for Jack Bobay, 83, a Carson City resident for 33 years.
Mr. Bobay died at Washoe Medical Center on July 25. He was born March 10, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Elmer and Catherine McNulty Bobay.
He enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and was an avid sports fan.
Bobay was a teacher and football coach for South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Ind. and acted as the official timer for the NBA team the Ft. Wayne Pistons, now the Detroit Pistons.
He was also a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by wife Sally Bobay of Carson City; son Paul Bobay of Wilmington, Ohio; daughters Patricia Boyd of Tucson, Ariz., Jo Ellen Morris of Hull, Mass., and Peggy Fein of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Tom Bobay of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and James Bobay of Angola, Ind.; sisters Betty Schroeder, Rita Elmer, Mary Ellen McDonald and Dorothy Drew, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.
He had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
