Silver State Gymnastics finished third as a team while Arel Getty and Rachel Neitzke earned all-around titles in their divisions at the Nevada State Gymnastics Championships held on Saturday at Gym Nevada in Sparks.
Neitzke won the all-around in the 13-and-over division for Level 5 with a 36.175 score. Neitzke, 13, had her best individual event score with a 9.475 on the uneven parallel bars.
Getty was first all-around for the 6-7 year old division for Level 4 with a 35.825. Her high score was 9.375, also on the bars.
"All of the girls did very well and the competition was really tough," according to coach Tracey Hudson, adding that teams from Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City participated in the event.
Two other Level 5 gymnasts, Shawntay Hudson and Kelsey Chicvara, both had their best meet ever as they posted all-around scores of 34.625 and 34.725 respectively. Hudson placed fifth in the 9-10 year old division and Chicvara placed fourth in the 6-8 age group.
This marked Silver State's final competition until the spring season begins in January with a meet in Reno.
