STATELINE - A woman was injured Sunday in a single-vehicle accident at Zephyr Cove when her truck flipped onto its passenger side and slid 180 feet before coming to a stop.
"The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed according to witness statements and our investigation," when she came up on a turn in the road near Zephyr Cove beach, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Steven Timm. He said she went onto the soft shoulder and over corrected, sending the Chevy truck careening across the eastbound lanes and then falling onto its passenger side. The truck then slid, tail first, to a stop 180 feet from where it toppled over. She was the only passenger in the vehicle.
The woman was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital. Her condition is unknown. A Douglas County deputy on scene said she appeared to be OK, but shook-up.
It is unknown whether alcohol was a factor.
