Saturday night's extracurricular activities during and after the sportsman

division race at Champion Speedway, and the resulting penalties are under review by track officials.

Champion General Manager Les Kynett is gathering further information and eyewitness reports, and said that the final decision on penalties, fines or suspensions will be made some time this week.

At the end of the race, John Hood went to Mike Millard's pit as a result of repeated body contact between the two during the main event. An altercation ensued and there are conflicting reports as to what exactly occurred.

It was reported in Monday's Appeal that Millard would be given a one-month suspension, while his crew member, racer Jerry Allec Jr., would be suspended from the track indefinitely, effectively putting him out of the upcoming Inter-Mountain touring series race on Saturday night, Sept. 22. Both cases are still pending, according to Kynett.
