Galena volleyball wins in three

The Galena volleyball team rolled to a 15-1, 15-9, 15-1 over Reno on Tuesday.

Joanna Hixon led the attack with 14 kills while Whitney Dibble had nine kills and Whitney Haller added three kills. Melissa Reaney had two blocks and Dibble added a block for the Grizzlies (14-4, 3-0).

Emily Welmerink had an outstanding night serving as she served for 20 points and three aces. Welmerink also led the defense with six digs while Hixon, Dibble and Stacy Schieberl all had five digs and Haller added four digs.

In addition, Lauren Wallace had an outstanding all-around match with 26 assists, six kills, six digs, eight points served and one ace.

Galena won the junior varsity match 15-8, 15-17, 15-12 and also won the freshmen match 15-7, 12-15, 15-8.
