Galena volleyball sweeps past Sparks

The Galena volleyball team rolled to another win, beating Sparks 15-12, 15-0, 15-7.

Lauren Wallace had 22 assists, four kills and two blocks for Galena. Joanna Hixon led the attack with nine kills, Whitney Dibble had seven kills and Carly Kolesar added four kills. Dibble also had four blocks and Emily Welmerink added one block.

In addition on defense, Hixon and Chelsea Appelbaum each had four digs and Teresa Miller added two digs.

Miller and Hixon each had outstanding serving matches as Miller served for 16 points and two aces and Hixon served for 16 points and three aces. Applebaum served for seven points and an ace.

Galena also won the junior varsity and freshmen matches.
