A memorial service for Michael James Thedorff, 40, a Wellington resident for the past nine years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Valley Christian Fellowship, Gardnerville, with pastors Leo Kruger and Ron Carter officiating.
Mr. Thedorff died Sept. 15, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1960, in San Diego, Calif., to James and Roseann Gorup Thedorff.
Before moving to Wellington, he lived in Ridgecrest, Calif.
Mr. Thedorff was watermaster for Topaz Ranch Estates Water Co. for three years. He also worked in construction for six years. He was a Christian.
He was a loving father. He loved fishing, camping and deer hunting and he enjoyed helping people.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Among his survivors are his wife Cheryl A. and daughters Jennifer L. and Tonya R., all of Gardnerville; father James of Texas; sisters Michelle Aughinbaugh of Mammoth Lakes, Melanie Wagner of Reno and Melissa Thedorff of Alabama and nephews Brandon, Ryan, Joshua, Ronnie and Tyler.
