A celebration of life for Troy Evan Bowser, 56, a Glenbrook resident, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Edgewood Tahoe.
Mr. Bowser died Sept. 16, 2001, at Glenbrook. He was born Sept. 28, 1945, in Hayward, Calif., to Evan H. and Nora Bowser.
He spent his elementary and high school years in Elk Grove, Calif., and after graduation from Elk Grove High School in 1963 he moved to and has made Lake Tahoe his home ever since.
Mr. Bowser and his brother Clyde started Sierra Homeowner Services which they sold in 1970 and then he became a Realtor. He had an appreciation for the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe and a great concern for the environmental protection of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
He was a member of the Edgewood Tahoe Men's Golf Club for the past 26 years and won the prestigious Edgewood Men's Club Championship on two occasions as well as winning other golf tournaments.
Among his survivors are his daughter Megan Murray of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sister Gail Dewberry of Woodland, Calif.; brother Clyde Billman of Reno and several nieces and nephews.
