Gov. Kenny Guinn's press secretary, Jack Finn, is leaving his post effective Friday.

Finn, 35, is the last of the original staff Guinn brought to Carson City when he took office in January 1999.

"Jack has been a tremendous asset to me and this office," said Guinn. "His hard work and insight helped shape many successes in the past three years."

Finn said he is taking the job of public relations director for the Jones Vargas law firm, which has become home to several former Guinn staff members, including former chief of staff Pete Ernaut and policy director Denice Miller.

He said he was proud of his role in what Guinn's administration has accomplished.

"He is as dedicated, passionate and genuine a leader as has ever served our state," said Finn.

No replacement has been named for Finn.

Prior to working for Guinn, Finn was press secretary for then-U.S. Rep. John Ensign. Before that, he spent four years as a reporter for KVBC-TV Channel 3 in Las Vegas.
