A memorial service for Raymond Francis Monia, 78, a Dayton resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton.
Mr. Monia died Sept. 18, 2001, at his home. He was born March 11, 1923, in Nebraska to Godfried and Julia Stutsman Monia.
Mr. Monia lived in Dayton and at South Lake Tahoe for 40 years, coming from Oakland, Calif.
He married Elaine Joseph Feb. 24,1943, in Reno.
Mr. Monia was a builder in the construction industry. He was active at the Dayton Senior Citizens Center. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a tail gunner during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife Elaine of Dayton; daughter Roberta Fierro of Dayton; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Inurnment will be at the Dayton Cemetery.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
