A memorial service for Wilbur W. "Bud" Green, 83, a Carson City resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Funeral Home.
Mr. Green died Sept. 17 at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Jewell, Iowa, to Elmer and Dora Green.
Mr. Wilbur served in the U.S. Navy for more than six years and during World War II. He was a chief petty officer attached to a Marine division for much of his duty. Following the war, he was employed as a plumber in Des Moines for 30 years. He was a member of the Highland Park Christian Church, Auburn-Union Park Masonic Lodge No. 592 and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 33. After retirement, he moved to Carson City.
He was preceded in death by brothers Ralph and Cass and sisters Arlene Stout and Edna Mae Nicoson.
Among his survivors are his wife of 56 years Kathryn; sons Dennis of Berkeley, Calif., and Roger of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandson August and many nieces and nephews
Internment will be at the Des Moines Masonic Cemetery and Mausoleum at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to a charity of choice.
