Carson boys soccer easily beats Hug

The Carson boys soccer team was able to maitain its intensity in a 7-1 win over an outmanned Hug team on Wednesday.


Jesse Steele scored unassisted, Jeff Rogers and Andrew James each scored on penalty kicks, Pedro Jahara scored on an assist from John Shorrock, Bryce Burgess scored on an assist from Jesus Cid, Cid scored on an assist from James and Burgess scored on an assist from Carson Thomas for the Senators (7-0).


"I'm definitely happy with the result today," Carson coach Jim Nealis said. "That's going to be our biggest challenge right now, coming out and play the best we can. It's going to be a great challenge getting up for every game."


Shawn Carter, who played in the first half, and Antonio Nunez, who played in the second half, combined at goalie for the win. Carson also won the junior varsity game 5-0.


The Senators will return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when it hosts North Valleys.
