Carson's second team takes 10th in golf

The Carson High golf team placed 10th with its second group of players in a Northern 4A tournament at D'Andrea Golf Course in Sparks on Tuesday.

Reed won the tournament with a 402 and was followed by Galena with a 403. They were followed by Reno (419), McQueen (423), South Tahoe (434) and Douglas (443). Carson finished with a 483.

Scores for the Senators were: Andrew Meyer (92), Derek Zastre (94), Chad Gilmore (98), Jeremy Nielsen (99), Eric Mergia (100) and Martin Jennings-Peats (105).

Carson's top group of players participated in the Joe Berry Junior Masters Tournament this past weekend in Sacramento and will compete today in the Tony Horton Memorial Tournament in Manteca, Calif.
