A Carson City man accused of climbing into his neighbor's window and lying naked on top of her as she slept pleaded guilty to felony burglary and lewdness Tuesday in court.
In exchange for the plea, the District Attorney's Office agreed to drop two felonies -- attempted sexual assault and battery with intent to commit sexual assault.
Zachary Lane Harold, 29, faces up to 14 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
The victim testified in an October hearing that Harold climbed into her neighboring home in West Carson through a second-story bathroom window, stripped naked and lay on top of her as she slept.
She said while asleep on her couch about 4 a.m. June 8 she felt a tickling on her nose.
"I opened my eyes and there was a man standing above me. I thought he was trying to smother me," she said.
She said she bit his hand so hard it dislocated her jaw and the man then climbed under the covers with her.
"He said he couldn't control himself and he'd been thinking about me and wanted to know if I had been thinking about him," she said.
In the darkness of the room, the victim said at first she had no idea who it was.
Then, she said, "I saw the shape of his head and realized it was the guy who lives next door to me."
Harold was previously convicted of lewdness in 1996 in Washoe County.
Nevada law requires those convicted of open or gross lewdness to register as a sex offender
