Two Carson Country athletes are having strong seasons for the Dana College (Neb.) baseball team.
Carson City's Craig Martin and Yerington's Nate Landa, both juniors, have played well so far for the NAIA school. Martin has started all 39 games for Dana (19-24, 8-6 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference) and is hitting .319 (37-for-116) with three home runs, 20 RBIs and nine doubles.
On the mound, Landa has posted a 7-3 record, appearing in 14 games. He has started four games and has 34 strikeouts in 47 innings.
