A funeral for Dorothy M. Niemann, 82, a Michigan City, Ind., resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Countryside Christian Church in Michigan City, with Rick Jones officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel and Friday from 9 -10 a.m. at the Countryside Christian Church.
Mrs. Niemann died April 16, 2002, at her home. She was born March 27, 1920, in Jingo, Tenn., to William D. and Luettie Comfort Carter.
She married Ralph Niemann June 29, 1940, in Michigan City. He preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1971.
Mrs. Niemann retired as a line operator for MC Lab in Michigan City.
She was a member of Countryside Christian Church and attended the New Beginnings Christian Church in Washoe Valley when she visited her daughter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law Bruce Ludlow; granddaughter Jennifer Ludlow; brothers Zollie Carter, Marlin Carter and Arthur Carter and sisters Dolores Moulton and Florine Bruckner.
Among her survivors are her daughter Barbara Ludlow of Michigan City; daughters and sons-in-law Sue and Tom Smith of Michigan City, and Diane and Mike McCord of Carson City ; granddaughter Sarah Brooke Smith of Michigan City; grandsons Stephen McCord of Carson City, Mike Ludlow of Union Mills, Ind., and Richard Kessler of West Lafayette, Ind.; granddaughters Dallas Ludlow and Sarah Hayman, both of Union Mills and sisters Murtie Miller, Vertia Mae Schroeder and Elaine Jones.
Burial will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Countryside Christian Church Building Program or to the New Beginnings Christian Church Building Program, Washoe Valley, Nevada.
Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
