A graveside service for Jimmie Vincent Savo Jr., 83, a Carson City resident for the past year, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Northern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Savo died April 25, 2002, in Carson City. He was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., to J.V. Sr. and F.V. (Joan) Savo.
Before moving to Carson city, he lived in Acton, Calif. for 18 years.
He attended military school and aeronautical college and was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II.
He was an accomplished musician and a member of the Musicians Union of Hollywood, Calif. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, he loved horses and he collected classic cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife Adah.
Among his survivors are his daughters Joan Jones of Carson City, Jane Crawford of Frazier Park, Calif. and Debbie Conte of Palmdale, Calif.; son Jimmie W. of Northern California; 14 grandchildren including Janene, Joanie, Jocelyn, James, Janey and Becky and 13 great-grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
