Carson High graduates Julie Hardt and Dana Baum helped the Reno Aquatics Club to a strong finish in the 800-meter freestyle relay on Thursday in the Phillips 66 United States Summer Swimming Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Baum and Hardt, Kathryn Houston and Marshi Smith placed 18th in eight minutes, 27.04 seconds. Baum, who swims for Minnesota, swam the opening leg in 2:06.91 while Hardt, who swims for Georgia, swam the anchor leg in 2:03.36. Baum also placed 63rd in the 100 free in 58.78 on Thursday.
