Obituary for Francis C. Collins

A funeral for Francis C. Collins, 82, a Schurz resident, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Schurz United Methodist Church.

Burial with military honors will be at the Schurz Cemetery.

Mr. Collins died Nov. 27, 2002, in Schurz. He was born April 5, 1920, in Duckwater to Frank and Winnie (Greeley) Collins.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was wounded Jan. 3, 1945, in France and received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge and Bronze Battle Star.

Among his survivors are his son, Phillip of Reno; daughter ,Anita Collins of Schurz; sisters Evelyn Martinez and Bertha Rose of Schurz and Lillie Lauher of Reno; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
