Once again, Santa Claus has requested the help of the Carson City Sheriff's Department Reserve Association to make personal visits to about 200 homes throughout the city, said reserve leader Dan Tecca.
"On Christmas Eve, Santa will be escorted by members of the association to private homes to bring a little special joy to boys and girls," Tecca said.
Families that would like a visit from Santa are asked to call the Santa Hotline at 887-2020, ext. 5005, before Dec. 19. Leave your name, address, number of children in the home and phone number. Santa's helpers will compile the information and contact parents prior to Christmas Eve to confirm.
"The amount of visits is limited due to Santa's busy schedule and will be between the hours of 4:30 and 9:30 p.m.," Tecca said.
The program is free, but donations to the association are accepted, he said.
