Night before last he appeared as the heavy villain in Esmeralda," and played with such feeling and effect that the Gallery Boys, who came loaded down with turnips and potatoes to hurl at his dramatic nibs, carried them out and distributed them to the poor. Others who came to scoff went away to pray.
100 YEARS AGO
Legislative suggestion. It is but a few weeks and the legislature is to meet in this city. Among the laws which have been suggested to the Appeal is the establishment of a fish commissioner. There is no question as to the need. Every stream in the state has either become low in stock or is depleted.

Tonight, for the second time, orphaned boys and girls will think of Henry Wood as they open gifts at the Nevada Orphans Home. A trust fund left about $29,000. Some of the bonds have defaulted with $150 less than last year. Last year heavy fleece lined coats were given.

James Raymond (Ray) Muldoon, native of Carson City and for the past several years with the county maintenance department, died suddenly this morning. He was born in 1901 in Carson and attended local schools and was a veteran of World War II and member of Eagles. Survived by brother Edward; five sisters, Mayme Muldoon, Eleanor Glover, Belle Cross and Lucille Hames of Carson City and Claire Jesson of Reno.

Carson City Chapter of Optimists International is playing Santa Claus to Dylan Wiggins and his family. He has acute lymphoctic leukemia.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Joedy W. Ussery, son of Wandaleene George of Carson City, recently deployed aboard replacement oiler USS Kalamazoo to join the USS John F. Kennedy, Mediterranean.
