The Douglas High boys basketball team used a huge second quarter to beat Robert Service 60-53 on Friday in the Torrey Pines National Prep Classic in San Diego.
Douglas trailed 13-8 after one quarter, but outscored Service 18-3 in the second quarter to take a 26-16 halftime lead. Nick Summers scored 23 points and Eric Emm added 15 points for the Tigers.
Both teams shot well from the foul line as Service went 21-of-25 while Douglas was 19-of-26. Summers went 9-of-10 from the line.
