A head on collision on Highway 95 five miles south of Fallon on Saturday evening claimed the lives of two Northern Nevadans.
A 40-year-old Yerington man died at the scene after his car crossed the center line and met another vehicle head on.
Trooper Patrick McGill of the Nevada Highway Patrol said the man was traveling north on Highway 95 in a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro when the vehicle crossed the center line into the path of a 1999 Ford Contour, driven by 53-year-old Lavella H. Lockwood of Hawthorne, who was heading south.
The name of the Yerington man had not been released as of Sunday afternoon.
Lockwood was taken to Washoe Medical Center by Care Flight where she later died.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, but results of test will not be available until after an autopsy is performed, McGill said.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and remained inside their vehicles.
