Murder suspect still at large

MINDEN -- Deputies continued searching Monday for a 22-year-old Carson City man wanted in connection with a Johnson Lane-area murder.

An East Fork Justice Court warrant was issued late Sunday afternoon for Christopher Fiegehen's arrest in connection with the slaying of his ex-girlfriend's step-father, and attempted murder of her mother, that morning in their Becky Avenue home.

Fiegehen was allegedly seen near Allen and Lorelle Chorkey's home about 6 a.m., shortly after the couple were shot. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigators said he was allegedly seen walking in Truckee on Sunday about 9 a.m.

Fiegehen is charged with murder, with the use of a firearm and attempted murder, with use of a firearm.

Allen Chorkey, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 54-year-old Lorelle Chorkey, is listed in critical but stable condition in a Reno-area hospital.

Fiegehen is described as a white male, 22, about 6-feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has blue eyes, a recently shaved head with possible brown roots and pierced ears.

Fiegehen is considered armed and dangerous.

It appears there was a scuffle in the home prior to the shooting, said Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini.

According to an East Fork Justice Court document, Fiegehen's ex-girlfriend Alane Dockstader, 18, was granted a temporary restraining order against him Jan. 22. He was served with the protective order by Carson City deputies at his Ramsey Court home Jan. 24.

The couple had dated since May 1999 and broke up last month because of Fiegehen's "controlling attitude and physical violence," according to court papers.

The no-bail warrant issued for Fiegehen's arrest also states that Lorelle Chorkey identified "Chris" as the shooter.

Neighbors placed Fiegehen's 1994 Ford pickup at the scene early Sunday because it is "distinctive sounding" and has a modified exhaust system, according to court documents.

Fiegehen's Nevada license plate is 821 KWZ.

Pierini said Dockstader was not at her parents' home during the shooting.

"The next 24 hours are crucial," Pierini said. "He needs to be apprehended. We don't know what kind of mental state he's in or how desperate he could be."

Fiegehen is the adopted son of Allan Fiegehen of Carson City, part owner of the Ormsby House and Cubix Corp. His last place of employment was as a bartender at the Silver Dollar Casino.

Fiegehen was arrested in Carson City on Jan. 16 on charges of felony possession of a concealed weapon, (a baton), misdemeanor hit-and-run and second-offense drunken driving.

He is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on those charges Feb. 28.

During the past five years, Fiegehen has been arrested in a handful of cases.

In 1997 he was arrested at Carson High School for possession of a dangerous weapon, a knife, for domestic battery in 1999 and for first offense drunken driving in 2000.
