Julius Francis Heider Sr., 86, a Carson City resident for the past 34 years, died Feb. 23, 2002, at Regent Care Center in Reno. He was born Dec. 14, 1915, in Kansas City, Kan., to Joseph and Elizabeth Smith Heiter.
He married Anna Mae Heider. She preceded him in death Nov. 9, 2001, in Carson City.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in South Lake Tahoe.
Mr. Heider retired from the U.S. Army. He was a World II veteran. He was a Catholic.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by sisters Ethyl Meyers in 1992, Ella Lory in 1994 and brother Joseph in 1990.
Among his survivors are his son Julius F. Jr. "Bud" of Australia; daughters Gloria Jean Navarro of Carson City and JoAnn Bangle Granata of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at the Fernley Veterans Cemetery.
