Mr. Wilson died Jan. 13, 2002, in Redbud Hospital in Lower Lake, Calif.
Mr. Wilson was born Jan. 23, 1926 in Stockton, Calif., to Franklin William and Dorothy Dean Howell Wilson. He was a professional truck driver, mechanic, raced motorcycles, cars and boats and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
He attended Antioch High School where he was a mechanic with his brother Esthel "Snork" Wilson, for Bankert's Pontiac Auto Garage. He drove for Ramponi Trucking in Bridgehead, Calif.. He drove for Nevis Trucking in Pittsburg, Calif.
In the 1950s while living in Laytonville, Calif. he drove a logging truck for
Bankert's Logging Business, where he also met his wife. He moved to Antioch, Calif., where he drove for Miles and Sons in Mountain View, Calif. He lived in Carson Valley for more than 10 years while driving for Carson Valley Logging.
He later moved to Clear Lake, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his sister Esthel Snork Bernard Wilson of Antioch, Calif.
He survived by sons William Vuki and Robert Vieth both of Minden; daughter and son-in-law Bert Vaugh Endicott and Penny Reanea Wilson of Corning, Calif.; nine grandchildren; his brother Wylie Winston of Minden; and two sisters, Danalee Laura Carr of Petaluma, Calif., and Dorothy "Sissy" Devyrl White of Coalinga, Calif.
