Nevada native Thelma M. Schenk, 74, of Genoa died Jan. 25, 2002 at Northern Nevada Medical Center.
Mrs. Schenk was born July 14, 1927 at the Jubilee Ranch just south of Genoa.
She was one of the organizers and a volunteer candy maker for many years at the annual Genoa Candy Dance.
Mrs. Schenk lived in Reno for 20 years before returning to the Carson Valley in 1982 upon retiring after more than 30 years of service with Sierra Pacific Power Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gault "Bus" W. Schenk who died Sept. 24, 1992.
She is survived by her mother, Winona James, of Carson City; son, Edwin and daughter-in-law, Vivienne; daughter, Cindy Davis Codding and son-in-law, Jeff, of Reno; a sister, Irene Ryan, of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at her request.
