Services for Dorothy Mae Paulsen a 37-year resident of Carson City will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Services will be followed by a celebration of life at 4 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center.
Mrs. Paulsen died July 18, 2002 in Carson City. She was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Denver to Clarence and Bertha Fesler. She was 84.
She was raised in Boulder, Colo., and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1940 with a degree in fine arts.
After graduation she worked as an artist with Warner Brothers Studios in Southern California.
On May 1, 1946 she married Frederick A Paulsen who preceded her in death De.. 29, 1995.
Mrs. Paulsen worked for the Nevada State Museum, taught art at Western Nevada Community College, was a past president for the Nevada Artists Association and was very active in the local art community.
She was an accomplished artist whose work was included in collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Among her survivors are her sister Gene Wolters of San Marcos, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Ginger of Reno, Bryant and sue of Fremont, Calif. and Kirk of Carson City; grandchildren Sabrina and Eric of Reno, and Ryan and David of Fremont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St., Carson City 89703.
