Obituary Donald C. Carl

A memorial service for Donald C. Carl, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Carl died May 30, 2002, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Sand Springs, Okla., to John and Zelma Wilson Carl.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in West Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Carl was the founder and owner of Bay Swiss Mfg. Company, Inc. of Dayton, established in 1952. He was a life member of Optimist International and the Confederate Air Force. He was a member of the Precision Machined Products Association.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942-46 during World War II as a flight engineer on B-24s.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy A. Carl in 1976.

Among his survivors are his wife of 55 years Marceline "Marcy" of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Vickie of Washoe Valley; sisters Imogene Ruffener of Hemet, Calif., and Josephine Welker of Paradise, Calif.; grandchildren Todd Carl of Carson City and Kimberly Carl of Reno and two great-grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
