Silver State Volleyball to compete in tournament

The Silver State Volleyball Club will have two teams competing today in an area league tournament at North Valleys High.

Silver State's 15 and under gold team and 16 and under silver team will compete in the 16 and under division in the event, which begins at 8:30 a.m. Silver State will be competing with teams from the Reno, Lassen and Sacramento areas.

Silver State's 15 and under gold team had an impressive fifth place finish recently in the 16 and division in a tournament in Sacramento.

Those on the 15 and under gold team are: Andie Bouweraerts, Reno; Sydney Colvin, Zephyr Cove; Collen Etcheverria, Carson City; Bethany Ellis, Fallon; Whitney Gielow, Stateline; Tina Hordewick, Zephyr Cove; Lindsay Kern, Carson City; Jackie Marino, Zephyr Cove; and Melanie Norvell, Carson City.

Those on the 16 and under silver team are: Whitney Knott, Tahoe City; Natalie Arneson, Gardnerville; Jesse Bunch, Carson City; Laura Glenn, Minden; Stephanie Hatcher, South Tahoe; Jenna Mechum, Carson City; Andrea Miller, Gardnerville; Jordan Stordivant, Bridgeport; Brianna Wilson, Carson City; and Jessica Parra, Gardnerville.
