A memorial service for George Kalleres, 65, a Carson City resident for the past 27 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Family with Pastor Stan Pesis officiating.
Mr. Kalleres died March 16, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 16, 1936, in Ely, where he spent his early life and attended schools.
He graduated from Cal State in Hayward, Calif., in 1975 with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
He married Carol Egbert in 1968.
Mr. Kalleres retired in 1996 as an auditor for the Nevada State Retirement System. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Family and enjoyed golfing, camping, working on cars and his family.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years, in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his father Tom and brother Chris.
Among his survivors are his wife Carol of Carson City; mother Juanita Gallegos of Ely; daughter Andrea C. Kalleres of Reno; son Michael J. of Reno; brother David and Mike of Ely and brother Tom of Sandy, Utah, and sister Marie Kalleres of Ely.
Inurnment will be at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Vista Care Hospice.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
