A $750 reward was offered Wednesday for information in connection with a drive-by shooting last week.

An unknown gunman fired at least six shots from a semi-automatic rifle, possibly an AK-47, into an apartment at 1023 Woodside Drive about 5:23 a.m. Friday morning.

"Several bullet holes were discovered in the face of the apartment complex, and exited through the ceiling of the second story apartment," said Chief Deputy Scott Burau. "The apartment was occupied by a husband and wife and their two children, but no one was injured."

Burau said the couple was preparing for work when the shots were fired.

After checking their children, they called 911.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related, although it is unclear whether that apartment was the intended target.

A witness saw a large white sedan, possibly a Cadillac, occupied by two individuals drive away from the location at high speed shortly after the shots were fired, Burau said. Two Hispanics males were also seen chasing that vehicle on foot.

"Anyone that knows anything, no matter how little they think the information might be, should call the Sheriff's Department," he said.

"We've chased down a number of leads, but nothing has panned out."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department at 887-2020 ext. 1411 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
