Graham, Sindlinger Players of the Year

Douglas High's Austin Graham and Galena's Chuck Sindlinger were named as the top players of the year in their respective leagues in Northern Nevada baseball.

Graham was named the Sierra League's Player of the Year while Sindlinger was named the High Desert League's Player of the Year.

Two Carson High players were named to the all-Sierra League first team -- catcher Owen Brolsma and pitcher Tim Priess, who was an all-league first team pick for the second straight year.

Douglas had four players named to the first team: Joining Graham were pitchers Darren Muren and Tom Hoyle and third baseman Cal Lewis.

Sindlinger shared High Desert Player of the Year honors with McQueen's Larry Nistler. Galena had seven all-league first team picks:

Joining Sindlinger were catcher Steve LeRud, pitchers Bryon Kragg and Brandon Evans, first baseman Doug Gasca, third baseman Kameron Davis and outfielder Chris Vlasek. Galena's Gary McNamara was also selected as the High Desert League Coach of the Year.

Second team all-league picks for Carson were: shortstop Carl Winter, first baseman Murph Glover, third baseman Willie Bowman, outfielders Neil Holmes, Ryan Gonzalez and Ben Moore and pitchers Jake Rasner, Todd Hendrix and Ryan Buttner.

Second team all-league choices for Galena were outfielder Luke Penrose and pitcher Rich Cummins.

Honorable mention choices were: Carson -- Andrew James, Jon Teeter, Rodney Black, Ryan Henry and Aaron Henry. Douglas -- Eric Olsen, Marc Walling, Shane Cauley, Andrew Andrews and Matt Saylo. Galena -- Tyler Stafford.
